The event was witnessed by Ms. Cynthia P. Luga, Chief of the Human Resource Management Section, Mr. Domingo Acotim, 2023 NCR Regional Fisherfolk Director, representatives from local government units and Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Councils of Metro Manila, and fisherfolk leaders of different fisherfolk group in the region.

 

In her message, Ms. Luga greeted the newly promoted personnel while warmly welcoming the newly appointed regional office staff. “Please remember that as public officials and employees of the government, [we are] always accountable to the people. Always act [with] justice and, of course, be responsible, act with integrity, and competence”, she added.

 

The newly promoted Training Center Superintendent II, Mr. Nazario C. Briguera shared his journey with BFAR. He said that he is fortunate and indebted to the knowledge, skills and opportunities given to him by his first-ever chief and leader in BFAR V, and now, the Regional Director of the BFAR-NCR, RD Lanzuela. “Nasa punto na rin po ako na kailangan ko na rin mag-payback, kailangan ko na magturo, kailangan kong ibahagi kung ano man ‘yung mga aral na nakuha sa organization and I am proud that I belong in the agency BFAR, serving our fisherfolk.” He also expressed his delight as the bureau recognizes the hardwork of its personnel. “Nakakainip maghintay, nakakapagod manimbang subalit maganda sa pakiramdam na kinilala ka hindi dahil sa marami kang kakilala. Kinilala ka dahil kilala ka sa galing mo.”

 

The oath-taking ceremony concluded with a heartfelt message from BFAR-NCR Regional Director Dr. Noemi SB. Lanzuela inspiring all personnel of BFAR-NCR while reminding everyone, especially the newly appointed and promoted personnel, to give their best beyond limits. “Kasi kung palagi kang nakakahon, you will not excel.
