Under Presidential Proclamation No. 33, the month of May of every year is declared as Farmers’ and Fisherfolk Month to give due recognition and tribute to farmers and fisherfolk and to highlight their role as partners of the government and the country’s backbone in the poverty alleviation and food program. This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme “𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘬𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢, 𝘔𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘌𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘺𝘢”.
According to DA Special Order No. 88 and Fisheries Office Order No. 080 series of 2005 to further dramatize and popularize the fishermen’s empowerment and participation as government partners, the BFAR launched the Mangingisdang Direktor Program in 2005 and for the first time since its establishment in 2020, the BFAR-National Capital Region installed it first Mangingisdang Direktor last May 2, 2023.
𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼 “𝗞𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼” 𝗖. 𝗔𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗺 Chairperson of CFARMC Las Piñas has been installed as the first ever Mangingisdang Direktor of Metro Manila. During his acceptance speech, Mr. Acotim assured that he will do his best during his tenure in office. “𝘗𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘬𝘰 𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰, 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘢, 𝘯𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨-𝘪𝘪𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘬𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘪𝘺𝘰𝘴”. He also presented the 10-Point Agenda of his term as the first Regional Fisherfolk Director of the NCR.
Mr. Acotim will serve for a term of one (1) month, from May 1–31, and will assume the role and task of the BFAR-NCR Regional Director in the implementation and dissemination of key programs of the office. However, his authority shall be limited to non-policy-determining activities. Meanwhile, Regional Director Lanzuela will engage in community immersion.
RD Lanzuela expressed her full support for the agenda and goals of the Regional Fisherfolk Director that are geared towards addressing the concerns and providing the utmost service to the fisherfolk. “𝘛𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰, 𝘚𝘪𝘳, 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢 [𝘯𝘨] 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘥𝘢. As a conclusion to the program, Ms. Nonie P. Enolva, OIC, FMRESSD, gave her closing message, in which she emphasized the commitment of the regional office to providing services to the fisherfolk sector in the National Capital Region. “𝘋𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘪 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘥𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯.
