Regional Fisherfolk Director Domingo “Ka Inggo” Acotim, with BFAR-NCR personnel, went to Brgy. Aldana, Las Piñas City on May 5, 2023, to enlighten the fisherfolk in the area on the Fisheries Administrative Order 196, otherwise known as “Guidelines on Creation and Implementation of Fisheries Aquatic Resources Management Councils (FARMCs),” and encouraged the fisherfolk to register on FishR (Fisherfolk Registration) — two of his 10-point agenda as the 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙠𝙩𝙤𝙧 Program in NCR.
RFD Acotim expressed his support for organizing the FARMC in barangay level of Brgy. Aldana since he believes that they share a common goal. “𝘒𝘢𝘴𝘪 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘸 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 ‘𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘎𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨 [𝘢𝘵] 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘺”.
He also encouraged the fisherfolk to register in FishR (Fisherfolk Registration), which facilitates easier access to assistance and support from the government.
