May 11, 2023 – The BFAR-National Capital Region, led by Regional Fisherfolk Director Domingo C. Acotim and Ms. Nonie P. Enolva, OIC-FMRESSD joins the World Bank Team in the Project Readiness Mission for the Philippine FishCORE Project in Fisherman’s Wharf (Bulungan), Paranaque City.
One of the objectives of the mission is to assess the readiness of the implementation of the Fisheries and Coastal-Resilient Resource Planning and Management (FISHCRMM) and Modern and Resilient Livelihood Investments (MARLIN) sub-projects through site visitation on Fisheries Management Area 6, which includes Parañaque City.
The World Bank Team, represented by Mr. Mizushi Satoh and Joseph Sciortino, had a comprehensive dialogue with the City Agriculturist of Paranaque City, Ms. Amelia M. Hernandez of LGU-Paranaque and Bulungan Market Administrator, Mr. Vermont Paul G. Amante, and personnel from BFAR Central Office and NCR Regional Office.
During the meaningful discussion, issues and concerns were raised for the proposed depuration facility and landing center in Bulungan Center.
FishCORE Project will support the implementation of reforms in fishery and aquaculture management in the Philippines that aimed towards improving the management of the country’s fishery resources and enhancing the value of fisheries production. #(MRA)
